DIOPSIS® (ARM + DSP) - Overview
Your Idea, Our Solution: ARM926EJ Plus One GFLOPS DSP
Atmel's DIOPSIS® 940HF is a dual-core processing platform for prosumer audio, speech processing, automotive sound and robotics applications, integrating a floating-point Magic DSP™ and an ARM926EJ-S RISC microprocessor.
The system combines the flexibility of the ARM926 RISC controller with the processing power of the mAgicV VLIW floating-point DSP. This combination makes DIOPSIS suited for applications needing both control and intensive numerical computations. 40-bit floating-point provides high dynamic range and maximum numerical precision, reducing the time to market. DIOPSIS horse-power is fully exploited on complex domain applications, like frequency domain signal processing. A rich set of peripherals and 2.3 Mbit of internal memories offer a highly flexible and integrated system solution.
DIOPSIS provides your design with:
- System Integration: an ARM microcontroller and a powerful floating point DSP integrated in a single chip with 2.3 Mbit of internal memories and a rich set of peripherals: full speed USB host/device, Ethernet MAC, 4xSSC, 3xUSART, 2xSPI, Time Counter, 2xTWI, 2xCAN, Multimedia Card Interface.
- High Performance: 1 billion floating point operations per second from the DSP, plus 220 MIPS from ARM.
- High Precision: 40 bit floating point internal computations for high dynamic range with extended linearity and native complex domain arithmetic instructions.
- Fast Application Prototyping: a C native programmable system both for the RISC and the DSP, provided with an Operating System and a complete set of libraries.
